Lessons From Love-bugs
Tiny little love-bugs
flying solo
Unaccompanied
Ready for mating
The unaware hit the pool and
find out quickly
how it’s harder to fly
when your wings are wet
And what reflections look like
when you’re in the midst
of new found fear
The experienced
hover & flutter
inches above
enjoying the breeze
With one eye keenly fixed
on jaws of lizards
awaiting their catastrophic
mistake of
landing on the patio
concrete
How exposed we are to
so many dangers while
looking for love
Those little bugs are
fearless
I should be so
courageous
I could stand to learn a
thing or two from
Spring
and lesser
life forms.
